Water Pumping
This is Tina and Shane and I met them recently on my “Walk + Water.” Tina related an extraordinary story with me that all her life she has had a recurring dream that she is in Africa pumping a manual water pump. When I shared with her and Shane they could go Houses with Hope on a mission trip to Kenya to help with water projects and other ministries they were thrilled. Shane told me they had been saving money to go on a big skiing vacation but that they would much rather help people in Africa and get a bunch of their friends to go too.
I have a feeling Tina will be working a water pump in Kenya very soon.
Lynn Wegesa of Austin, Texas read about my walk and shared it with her friend, Florence Nyoike, who are both Native Kenyans residing in the U.S. We met on my walk and began sharing ideas. This led to a historic event in Dallas last week with some of the brightest and best Kenyans who live and work in America. By the end of the evening “United for Kenya” was born, and a few of the founding leaders are pictured here.
